One of my favorite places to shop and photograph is the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village nestled beneath the shade of the sycamores on the banks of beautiful Oak Creek in Sedona, Arizona. Tlaquepaque is a most distinctive artist and shopping experience to be found in the Southwest. Near the gurgling Oak Creek there sits a tiny chapel designed in the tradition of centuries old Mexico. Stained glass windows and hand-carved wood and leather pews, a stunning mural over the altar, and white-washed adobe walls evoke what it must have been like to be married in a quaint Mexican village long ago. This artistic rendition is my romanticized interpretation of the brilliant saturated colors of the chapel with a cobblestone street and lush foliage in the foreground.

I am an artist and photographer with more than twenty years of experience in the photographic arts, I started out in the film era developing my own black and white and color slides in a home darkroom in Tempe, Arizona. My nature and fine art images reflect my travels throughout the American Southwest with extensive photo excursions in Arizona, New Mexico and California. I photograph Major League Baseball Spring Training at Surprise Stadium, home of the Texas Rangers and the Kansas City Royals. My color images capture the brilliant greens and blues of nature, while my black and white images feature strong contrast utilizing techniques that present tack-sharp subjects with interesting composition.
