On the grounds of the Amara Resort in Sedona is an amazing seven foot tall sculpture by Gary Lee Price (Springville, Utah), a world renowned sculptor of bronze statues. He called the statue “The Communion” after a preceding larger model of the sculpture gracing the United Methodist Church of Brentwood, Tennessee. Price believed that “Uplifting others, helping others, and joining hands with others in brotherhood and sisterhood are essential parts of his life.” (Source: www.garyleeprice.com)
As we were relaxing in the garden at the resort that morning I was struck by a powerful feeling that came over me looking at the statue as it was framed by the lush landscaping and the backdrop of the red rock mountain behind and the blue sky above. I grabbed my camera and took this image. I named the image “Hand of God” because it looked like the hand was coming down out of the heavens to lift up mankind here on earth.
