Artist's Description
This photo that is the base of this artwork was taken from the inside of the track with the racing fans in the stands on the outside of the track. The image shows the horses and jockeys right after leaping out of the starting gate. The painting forms what I call a �Photographic Escape� with the intent to take a photograph and intensify its colors and edges to create a super-saturated and stylized vision of the original. This altered vision of the original photograph is turned into an acrylic painting and is entirely my own and comes from the depths of my imagination.
This painting was featured on LeRoy Neiman's "Find the Art in Your Life" web site on June 19, 2012.

I am an artist and photographer with more than twenty years of experience in the photographic arts, I started out in the film era developing my own black and white and color slides in a home darkroom in Tempe, Arizona. My nature and fine art images reflect my travels throughout the American Southwest with extensive photo excursions in Arizona, New Mexico and California.
